Treasures of Armenia

We will kick the tour off with a cable car ride up Mount Teghenis, taking in the breathtaking views all around. Next, we sail through the reflective waters of Lake Sevan. One of the world’s largest fresh-water high-altitude lakes, it is a true wonder of nature with a rich and diverse ecosystem and picturesque shores. After the boat ride, we will visit the Temple of Garni, built by the Armenian King Tiridates and dedicated to Mithra, the god of the Sun.

Time for another natural wonder, The Symphony of the Stones. Handcrafted out of massive basalt columns standing 50m high, the stones resemble an organ whre the music is played by the river flowing through the gorge. It is a true haven of tranquillity, serenity and peace. The last stop for today is the magnificent Geghard Monastery, the pride of Armenian medieval architecture. This World Heritage-listed site is carved out of a mountain and surrounded by cliffs of the Azat Valley.

Our trip starts with Erebuni Fortress - dated to 782 BC, it is one of the oldest fortresses existing today, just as Yerevan is one of the oldest cities in the world. Get swept away in Yerevan’s liveliness which originates from a delightful mix of its ancient culture and modern lifestyle. Learn all about the local traditions, costumes, jewellery and carpet-making at the Aguletsi Museum.

Embark on a trip to the picturesque Gyumri – Armenia’s second city and its creative capital. Walk the enthralling Kumayri district with its unique architecture, historical monuments and charming squares, looking for hidden cafes and cosy shops.

Travel back in time as you explore the Zanan Cultural centre, complete with a photo shoot of you living the life, dressed up in traditional dresses and costumes, followed by a cup of sweet Armenian tea.
